Leave Winter Behind,
Explore the Desert on Horseback
2023 Dates:
February 18-22: Ride Out Ranch
February 22-26: Sleeping Dog Ranch
Duration:
4 nights, 8 nights, or custom
Riding Level:
Intermediate-Advanced
This riding retreat spans three destinations in Arizona, each offering unique and exceptional riding with great amenities.
February 18-22 will be hosted at Ride Out Ranch, off the beaten path near Florence. This off-grid ranch offers a variety of riding in the surrounding areas, campsites, RV sites, and tiny homes.
February 22-26 will be hosted at Sleeping Dog Ranch in Sonoita, in the heart of Arizona’s wine country, nestled in the Santa Rita Mountains with 300,000 acres of public land and trails to explore on horseback. RV sites and dry camping available.
Bring your own horse and we will take care of the rest - group trail rides in the desert, time to relax with friends and horses, and home-cooked meals with fellow equestrians sharing a love for trail riding, nature, horses, and adventure.
Horses
Bring your own horse - Stalls and corrals are provided at each retreat location. Please read the Guest Horse Guidelines if you plan to bring your horse. Owners are responsible for their own feed, cleaning, and care.
Riders of any discipline are welcome, but must be saddled (no bareback riding with the group). Riders must bring all their own tack and equipment.
Riding
Intermediate-Advanced. Since riders are bringing their own horses, a minimum of intermediate level riding is required. Accompanying non-riders are welcome to join for camping and meals.
Terrain
Trail length, difficulty, and elevation gain will vary with each location. Terrain in Arizona is generally rocky and shoes and boots for horses are always recommended.
