Trail Riding from a
Historic Colorado Ranch

2024 Dates:

June 14-17

Duration:

4 days / 3 nights

Riding Level:

Intermediate-Advanced

Bring your horse and stay at the historic M Lazy C Ranch in Lake George, Colorado. Enjoy scenic trail rides, campfire dinners, and a range of other activities. Stay in a lovingly refurbished historic cabin or bring your tent/RV/camper/trailer.

Trail rides will head out into the wilderness directly from the ranch. The Tarryall and Lost Creek Wilderness areas form part of the Pike National Forest and are the ancestral homelands of the Ute and Pueblo tribes. Surrounded by the Kenosha, Platte, and Tarryall mountain ranges, the area is home to deer, elk, coyotes, fox, bears, marmots, bighorn sheep, pronghorn antelope, and more.

Horses

Bring your own horse - Stalls are available on-site for riders bringing their own horse. Stalls are 10x10 or 12x12 pipe fencing corral panels, uncovered, with packed dirt floor next to the arena.

Riding Level

Intermediate-Advanced Riders must be able to ride in a group and keep control of their horse. Accompanying non-riders welcome as well.

Tack and Terrain

All riding disciplines welcome. Horses must be saddled (not bareback) to ride with the group.

We will be riding trails through pine forests and across open, grassy meadows. The footing is mostly soft with some rocky areas. Shoes or boots for horses are always recommended but not compulsory.
