Monte Velho is a world-renowned Lusitano stud farm and equestrian center, set in an idyllic landscape in the Alentejo region of Portugal. The property blends in with the surrounding countryside which can be explored on horseback in addition to lessons offered onsite.

Horses

All the horses are Lusitanos, a breed known for their amazing character and athletic ability. Monte Velho has a wide range of ability and training levels, so there is a horse for every rider.

Riding

All levels welcome

Riders will be grouped according to ability level, but all levels are welcome.

Tack

Riders will ride English, in traditional dressage saddles.

Accommodation

Monte Velho rooms offer a contemporary atmosphere with a sophisticated design with breathtaking views of the dam in the valley. Monte Velho also has a gym, jacuzzi, massage room, pool and sauna.

Dining

Despite the riding focus of this tour, the food will not disappoint! Enjoy local, traditional food and homecooked farm-to-table meals.

Itinerary

Itineraries will vary depending on the timing of your rides and whether you decide to book riding lessons, trail rides, or both. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all included and offered onsite.
